How to create a video with a transparent background

This tutorial shows you one way to create the uber cool video effect of having someone walk out onto your website and give a promo or pitch. I've wanted to figure this one out ever since I first saw it a couple years ago! Now I've got a project that wanted the effect and voila I cracked the code. I hope that someone else out there finds this helpful. Even though I'm using some specific tools, I think other editing products out there will accomplish the same thing as the general process is the same. @l3l4kl There are other tools that can be used, these are just the ones that I have access to. It's really the concepts and file formats that are important. As long as your video editing software can export in a flash format with an alpha channel, it doesn't matter that much.

How do you import/export into Motion ?

@usausb From FCP you can directly send the video to Motion. Otherwise you can just open up your clip in Motion and do all the editing there from start to finish. That's actually what I prefer.

Great video. I only straggle to find the way to put this video on the web to create web spokeperson effect. I saved my video a swf and flv format with R&B Pluse alpha channel which by the way was created in After Effect. But after puting them on the server vodeo is always playing with solid background.(only swf format flv doesn't work) One of my website which is CMS accept only flv format. please help rkacprzak@yahoo.com
