I also have been ignoring and denying fairies, bigfoot and little green men from Mars ... and I have been spitting in their faces, slapping their faces.....
OR HAVE I...?

the guy in this video is a complete jack ass.... "get out of our life?" I have NEVER said that about god...I prayed and I prayed before I realized the bible was complete and utter bull shit and he NEVER answered my prayers.... don't assume that just because people are atheists we say to god "get out of our life" or anything like that, we are actually LOOKING for god unlike a whole lot of christians who just accept the bible and don't realize all the flaws in it.

What a ludicrous statement.
Nobody in their right mind 'rejects' anything. We are curious creatures and we discovered a long time ago that these metaphorical expressions emerging from the unconscious have always had important implications within the context of human individual and cultural experience. People like YOU, Mr Koukl, who don't understand them, have turned the idea of 'God' into a confused mess of bizarre, propaganda laden, bedtime stories and philosophical paradoxes.

@VVesss Atheist are capable of being dogmatic in their views or their rejection of God, just as much as believers can be about their particular doctrine.

Give me a break. I would love to have God participate in the affairs of humanity. Why I don't want is people claiming to be God's representative trying to interfere with the affairs of humanity. And since God is not participating, God is irrelevant. And if there is a God, its all God's fault since God is the cause of it all.

It isn't good to presume to tell others what they believe. It's a terrible way to start an argument.
Atheism entails nothing more than the lack of belief in a god. That's it. Any position further than that is by definition a positive belief, and beyond mere atheism.
If you'd like to have a discussion on intelligent design or evolution, I'd be happy to. However, that has no bearing on my atheism.
-
Atheists essentially believe that from nothing came the whole universe, by pure chance.
They believe that a mindless system of trial and error was responsible for evolution. All that has every been proven is Macro Evolution of cells.
And you call it "disbelief" to be an atheist? I say it takes more FAITH to be an atheist than a theist because where we see Intelligent Design and for very good reason, you believe in chance and random permutations.
We both have faith my friend.

god is always too far away, thus nowhere.
-
we dont claim there is no god, we just question that belief and with proof we back up our doubts about the existence of god, unlike theist that claim god exists just because everything exist and becuse of a feeling and the certainty of it
How can "fundamentalist" even apply to an atheist? Atheism is nothing more than the rejection of the idea of God. There are no basic principles or set of rules for atheists to follow; it's a very broad term.

Atheism, as many of us atheists define it, is disbelief. It wouldn't exist if theists didn't exist as contrast.
As was once pointed out in jest, if there was a considerable portion of the population who said that Bigfoot was the source of all good, that belief in Bigfoot was a virtue, and that faith in Bigfoot's return was the source of salvation, you can bet that there would be abigfootists.
