Histon Station / Busway Stop - November 2009. Pre-opening

Histon Station - November 2009
See the new Histon and Impington Busway stop. The new platforms have been staggered to accommodate the old railway station. The original plans at the Busway were to demolish Histon Station completely to make way for a car-park.
After considerable protest, the station was saved.
Only one of the old train platforms have survived, and that one has been trimmed by the Busway people.
There's a new awning, in a 'railway style' in a curios mustardy orange.
Nodding Cat Channel still says, a train and tram would have been better than this guided busway!

@trainlover657 - Yes this is a legacy of the "pro public transport" labour Government, that could not provide money for a rail link but a miracle happened and money was found from nowhere to fund the more expensive guided busway plan. Is it any wonder this country is in such a mess?

seriously? a guided bus way? A GUIDED BUS WAY!?!?!? WTFF?!?! we could have used this money to KEEP the track down, and simply buy a DMU or something to run services
