Are we sure this is air force controllers? I mean, every US Marine company has a FAC (forward air controller) attached to it that is a Marine pilot himself. They do this kind of work for the Marines.
In fact, not only do they do that but they have whole companies called Anglico (air/naval gunfire liason company) that's sole purpose is to do this in heavy supporting fire situations. The Marines don't like using outsiders.

Well being a romad, i know im not special forces because i am here in iraq with them and if i said i was special forces, they would tea bag me. I'm not being cool or smart, its called facts. Being SOF or SF are two different things. Not going to argue to an internet/ google ranger, V09 out--dont know what this is...you never will

Special Forces is another name for Special Operations Forces. Don't try to act cool or smart since it's not going your way.

This is a usaf TACP- only the Marines use the old term known as Foward Air Controller. Tacp for the most part are with the regular Army but have many SOF qualified TACP out there along with other qaulifications ETAC JTAC and the new officer TACP concept.
