Ah, I never played 7a so I was stunned when Kane shot Seth. This was actually rather easy mission.
-
@Starman117 Oh yeah, Nod missions love to throw "rebuild the heavily-damaged base" objectives at you. It's like you can't even build your own base from scratch until the final mission.
-
@Starman117 Unless the Mammoth Tank can one-shot flame tanks (they can't--not even close), the flame tanks will be able to get in range and annihilate the grenadiers in one sweep, leaving the Mammoth wide open to the bazookas. If the missile is a problem, have the flame tank lead the way in or lure the missile out with a recon bike, which is fast enough to cause a total miss. Recon Bikes are really good, actually. 4 of them can kite and kill a mammoth tank with only one loss.
-
@Vidszhite Oh and there's a way for the tank to win. a mammoth would fire rockets if it had to turn the turret about 45 degrees or more, These were deadly to infantry. And unfortunately the Mammoth would just blow up the flame tank whilst the grenadiers massacred your bazookas. And infantry is useless for base assault as GDI's two types of guard tower were both deadly against infantry. meaning you had to use the rubbish tanks.
-
@Vidszhite Still they do make it especially difficult, like the rebuild your base ones they were oh so fond of. where you'd have to find and recapture a base that consisted of a construction yard a power plant and a refinery with 5 men and 3 engineers. You would then be attacked the second you'd recaptured your base. There's open where you are pinned down in your base by a gunboat. You have to sneak the harvester around it whilst under constant attack.

@Starman117 GDI missions are more about building a base and kicking ass. Nod missions are more about using your head to win with what little the Brotherhood can scrounge together. Nod's whole thing is more about using your head. None of their tanks can really stand up to GDI's, but they provide good cover for Bazookas, which do the real damage. 8 Bazookas can kill a Mammoth Tank without even taking a loss. You counter zookas with Grenadiers, sure... but that's what Flame Tanks are for. ;P

"This should be a no brainer for someone of your caliber"
............And then in the very next scene Kane shoots him in the head.
Perfect foreshadowing hahahahahaha.

Yes, some of the missions have different arrows to select on the mission select screen
Sometimes, different arrows are different missions

God, I just played this mission 5 fucking times and I am still unable to get through.
Those overpowered GDI grenadiers are really striking my nerves they destroy both your infantry and ligh vehicles in a few hitswhile my nod buggy cant hit shit, tanks have to squash them and missile bikes are useless. Even flamethrower infantry cant hit crap when target infantry moves, and they move all the time.

I know this was by far the one I hated most. GDI's "Twist of Fate" was a hard one too (on the covert ops disc)
actually, he was the game dev team's art guy. They shanghaied him into doing the Nod briefings :p
