These are my garter snakes. I'm feeding them tilapia pieces. I do this when the pet store is out of rodents. Most people only feed live fish to garters and that's fine so long as they are not goldfish. Unfortunately goldfish are the cheapest and easiest to find. I don't recomment feeding gold fish because they are very dirty fish no matter how well the tanks are kept up. They carry worms, other parasites, bacteria and many other disease that aren't good for snakes. Idealy it's best to try and convert snakes to a rodent diet that is nutritionally complete. Feeding tilapia or trout pieces is the best alternative if you can't get them to convert but without bones and the vicera you'll have to supplement calcium and vitamins once a month. I also feature my big girl Verdi int his. I love my Verdi girl despite how aggressive she is.
EDIT: I've closed comments on this video because I'm tired of the stupid comments I've been getting. Not flames or rude comments but just stupid comments. Like "What are they eating?" If you're too stupid to watch and listen or even read you shouldn't be asking questions. I'm also rather surprised that I only have two snake videos up and both are the most watched and view. I like snakes, but they are not my main interested. This video is about how *I* take care of MY snakes. If you still have questions about basic garter care go to
http://www.gartersnake.info
That is a very good site with a nice care sheet. They can help you out.
