Scotland Stirling Castle Bruce Wallace Roy Stewarts Scottish Tours Tel. 01505 872877 jr.stewart@btinternet.com Stirling Castle, located in Stirling, is one of the largest and most important castles, both historically and architecturally, in Scotland. The Castle sits atop the Castle Hill, a volcanic crag, which forms part of the Stirling Sill geological formation. It is surrounded on three sides by steep cliffs, giving it a strong defensive position. Its strategic location, guarding what was, until the 1930s, the farthest downstream crossing of the River Forth, has made it an important fortification from the earliest times. The Castle is a Scheduled Ancient Monument, and is managed by Historic Scotland.
Hi there!
Wonderful video especially since I have recently been there too. Unfortunately, we only had time for lunch in town, but the castle was amazing.
Please have a look at my video. I hope you like it. Should you want to sub, I'll of course return the favour. Thanks in advance for commenting.

Bannockburn was not about both sides attempting to hold Stirling Castle. Bruce had no interest in occupying Scottish castles. All he wanted to do was smash them down so that they couldn't serve the English as regional 'police stations'. In fact, he was furious with his younger brother, Edward, for challenging the constable and provoking a set battle Bruce was likely to lose. That he didn't was nothing short of a miracle.
