The Class 92 presumably gets a yellow, the nearer signal was showing green. The train was the 4E32 empty steel (ex Ebange) from Dollands Moor to Scunthorpe. Nice to see a 92 working on the East Coast Main Line.

  • Hi. You've made good videos. Splendid work.

  • Thanks - your videos are good as well!

  • For now. But in future then renewable sources could be used. Plus they use less energy than a diesel would (they are lighter because they don't carry their fuel or generator with them), and they are more powerful.

  • It is nice to see a 92 makes a welcome change from the 66's, nice video, well done.:)

  • @cjmillsnun but they havent got the tractive effort of a diesel, infact the class 70 uses less energy that the 92.

  • love watching your videos, I have only become interested in the railways within the past year since commuting on them everyday to work. You have quite a few older videos so it's nice to see how ti once was

  • where would they change the loco then to go on to Scunthorpe? Doncaster perhaps?

  • Heavy braking, nice vid thoe

  • nice vid but give me diesel anytime we will all be dead in 4 billion years anyway when the universe ends , so live for tiday, diesels rule

  • @SPTSuperSprinter156 The substations get carried around with diesels. With regenerative braking the substations also feed back power to the grid. That goes for some dc substations, too. Electric is the way to go: Just our silly politicians who have stood in the way. They are the Private Schultz's of technology ("I know nothing").

  • Nice shot. Thanks. Philippe

  • sit at a station with that going past. it doesnt half blow u away

  • Yeah fair enough, electricity isn't massively clean in all areas but it is considerably cleaner than diesel. Also, the trains themselves are quietier and actually have quicker acceleration and top speeds.

  • Sigh, it is still economically and environmentally more efficient than having diesel engines inside the locomotives. Also, in the long term, electricity production will no doubt be the preserve of fission, fusion, and wind/solar energies - none of which produce carbon dioxide.
