today i just got a 840 on the essentials test! taking part 2 soon.

I am doing CompTIA at the moment, but its online study due to the fact i cant afford a class room/University course which costs 4 times more due to the overheads. I would MUCH MUCH rather a class room environment due to it being more hands on, but then again i used to work in IT in the 90's and i have tinkered a lot since the C64 & Amiga days. Wish me luck :)

That's interesting! Advice I got was to do A+ first, then N+, then L+. The A+ may be the most difficult, because of the massive memorization task. For example, all those chip types to learn, the subtle differences among them, with no readily graspable logic to the naming & numbering used. Thanks for the luck; I'm going to need it! :)

its good to have these certs BUT, you can get by without them, computers is all about how good workflow you have, but its good to have

Already passed the Linux+ and Network+ exams. I'm now studying for the A+ certification. They're entry level certs, pretty basic but challenging. Good luck to everyone who plans to get CompTIA certified !
