The Philippine eagle is the most feared animal in the Philippine Forest. This eagle had the entire islands under its supremacy as the ultimate hunter. Other countries may have big cats, bears and wolves as top predators but this magnificent bird of prey has its share of the crown being on top of the food chain. It hunts big snakes such as pythons and cobras, monitor lizards, flying lemurs, civets, monkeys, deers and large bats. With its reputation as the terror of the sky, the locals call it "Haring Ibon" or King of the Birds", surely the most impressive among all of the eagles.

However, this king of the birds is in danger of being lost forever. Fewer than 500 of these birds remain in the wild. Habitat loss and hunting brought them to the edge of extinction. Saving them is as important as educating people about the importance of this bird and the environment where they live.

The Philippine Eagle needs your help!
