@Sword1479 It is so simple. When somebody says "Shumann", everyone knows Robert Schumann. And they don't know Clara. And somebody don't want to know her...

@Sword1479 She is unknown because during the 19th century it was not considered proper for women to write and publish music. Unfortunately this has resulted in most of her music being relatively obscure and unknown to the average classical music listener.
