Jakarta Fair Scores Record High

The Jakarta Fair exhibition closes this week with earnings record high.

ANCHOR:
The Jakarta Fair exhibition is the largest trading arena in Indonesia. This year the exhibition was a total success -- generating more profit and visitors than ever before. Our Indonesian team was there on Monday at the closing ceremony.

STORY:
Colorful fireworks decorate the skies for 15 minutes non-stop as Jakarta Fair 2008 comes to and end.

The expo exceeded all expectations with five million visitors and grossing over 400 million USD.

[Fauzi Bowo, Jakarta Governor]:
" I hope the Jakarta Fair will be more attractive in the future.. more entertaining, and advantageous to everyone, including the visitors."

Satisfied and proud of the results, organizers, vendors and booth operators are convinced they will participate again next year.

[Jie Lie, Sales Promotion Girl]:
"I feel very happy that at the end of the fair we achieved more than we expected. It means that our hard-work was not in vain."

[Rama, Polygon Bicycle Stand]:
"The promotion and trading were very effective. The Jakarta Fair is a very good place."

[Ivon, Skyway Sandal Stand]:
"We got many local and international visitors who want to distribute, sell, and even import Skyway Sandals. So this Jakarta Fair exhibition was pretty amazing."

The organizers promise that next year the expo will be able to accommodate even more visitors.

[Siti Hartati Murdaya, Jakarta Fair President Director]:
"Next year we will divide it into two events. The Jakarta Fair will celebrate Jakarta's birthday, and the Jakarta Expo for promoting products. If we don't divide it, I'm afraid that it will be too crowded and uncomfortable."
