First half of Samuel Barber's Hermit Songs 1. At St. Patrick's Purgatory 2. Church Bell at Night 3. St. Ita's Vision 4. The Heavenly Banquet 5. The Crucifixion
Having sung these many times, this sounds like the original key. They're not terribly high, and starting on St. Patrick's Purgatory is cruel, even though it's a great song. These were done so well by both pianist and singer! I'd like to see a little more sass in Heavenly Banquet in the line "drinking it though all eternity." It's such a ribald song, really, and that line really expresses it. It shouldn't be so staid!
@asx5252 The only one I can think about that is high in tessitura is Sure on the Shining Night, the most commonly song note is D. That's somewhat high. But yeah most of his pieces are composed for middle/high voices.
This is fantastic. Ditto everything I wrote about part 2 of your rendition of the Hermit Songs. Plus, as I neglected to mention, because it's so obvious, what a beautiful voice! Really you are in goosebump territory. I'll bet S. Barber himself would have been impressed. You're a marvelous team together. I hope for the best for each of you.

@ivantwill this is definitely the original key. Some of the songs do not have a very high tessitura.

are you singing the low voice version? it seems as though its laying too low in your tessitura. ??
