Here is a Roundhouse Millie, fitted with the Summerlands Chuffer, running on the Summerlands Light Railway. This Millie seems to make a nice sound whether running fast or slow and whatever the pressure.

  • A brilliant sound. Helped also by the near silent burner. Is this the same design used on your other engines?

  • Thanks - and yes it is, except that the body of the chuffer is 9/32" instead of 1/4" . You are right about the burner - it helps a lot.

  • Brilliant. I wish my Millie would sound like that!

  • Thanks - I'm still working on it!

  • great sound and a lovely little engine on a great line

  • Thank you for those kind words!

  • I would not call that a bad firing technique, I always thought if you have the safty valves blowing all the time that means your a good fireman! ;)

    ((Sorry about the late reply!))

  • Thanks for the comment - the steam display was for the camera - not due to my poor firing technique - honest ;-)

  • Great video, like the way the saftey valves were lifeting all the time! :)
