@Chastenfregia exactly, SN1 = secondary/tert and SN2 = primary/methyl.

what about CH3CH2CH2CH2Br reacts with water? that cant be Sn1 because the alpha carbon is primary however in my chem book it still shows a reaction through Sn2.....
