Col. Joseph Kittinger - human experiment for Project Excelsior (1960) - set world records for highest parachuting jump (102,800 ft. or 20 miles), longest free fall (4.5 min.), highest balloon jump and fastest speed (close to speed of sound) by a person through the atmosphere. His records still stand. All for experimental studies on the affects of high altitude on the human body. A Living Legend and Inspiration.

  • Macho!

  • Awesome!

  • The video I am looking for also had a written narrative , and when he got to the max altitude , the written narrative said " and he did something amazing " , " he jumped ." Anyone ever seen that video . In the chorus of the song they sang Momma a few times also . One could literally hear him open the door before he jumped . Thanks to anyone that might know of this one and would be good enough to share the link . Thanks again( idfelix) !

  • Awesome , there is another video that I watched once , and you could hear the door open to his platform before he jumped , and there was a slightly different version of the song . This one is one of the best by far , especially with the cover or of Times Magazine being shown at the end . Thanks for sharing GoofyTurp .

  • There was another version of this jump with a different song by Unkle , does anyone know where that version is or the song ?
