Derelict RAF Nocton Hospital.

Built around 1943 when the US Army took possesion of Nocton Hall for a second time, to be named United States Army Seventh General Hospital.
After the war it became Lincolnshire's County Hospital as chosen by the RAF upon repossession.
This would be closed as a military hospital on March 31st 1983.
Now standing securely fenced in away from Nocton Hall.

  • Taking another trip there soon, is there any security i need to be worring about since the place is in new ownership?

  • @dafronz5 im not sure, when i went last there was a guards office on the small lane that leads to the hospital area but noone goes in that way and they cant see far but the best way im assuming is still through the hall, although im not sure on the guard situation now. only one way to find out.

  • @rustinpeace101 ahh, i went on a night visit a few months ago to show some friends round and i found going into the grounds via the hall a tad unsafe, so i think we will just risk it and walk through the main gates as there left open(hopefully), also going to be checking out st johns for the first time too, ive heard that that actually has security patrolling the area but there is only one way to find out, ill put my photos on flickr eventually if you wanted to check them out. cheers

  • @dafronz5 its not a good idea going to st johns, its full of labourers and workers as they are doing work on it. We managed to sneak around them for about 3 hours when we went before getting thrown off, but now there will probably be a lot more of them. Plus it wont look anything like my pics anymore as they have probably done a lot of work on it, i think theyre turning it into appartments.

  • me and two mates spent the night there twice. first time nothing happened but second time we were more or less pushed out lol. we all reacted at the same time and didnt know why. when we watched the video back we caught a mans voice talking to us (we were all girls) followed by the rattling of keys and fast footsteps. We were pretty open minded when we went there as nothing happened the first time. wont be going back there, its one of the scariest places ive been lol and i dont scare easy

  • weird, could have been the guard though, theres one at the end of that lane near the front, next to that old workshop.

  • Spent a month in this place during Desert Storm. Place was creepy even back then, but the people in the area were wonderful. Had a blast hanging out with local MOD police. They had a pub above there station. Those where the days.....

  • I was born here 1972 ..went and saw it last year ..what a shame:(

  • I live in nocton now, but now the hospital is securely fenced off. the police patrol the hospital every hour or so, been thrown of their a few times by the cops, but your not allowed on there anymore. if you want to get in, you have to take wire cutters and cut a hole in the fence, because the police have tied up every single hole in the fence, since it is private property you can get told off for being in there, so basically ; DONT GET CAUGHT!

  • I was working close to here today. Had my wisdom teeth taken out in the hospital in 1978; sad decline. Like the rest of the country really. The new development ajoining the old married quarters is nice though. Memories!!
