it's so an asymetric choreo. Nobody take a look at the male dancer. this construction doesn't really give him justice. he just give a support to his partener.

You know this is the best In the Middle which I have seen including In the Middle with Guillem and Zakharova. Perhaps this opinion of taste. I like the naturalness and musicality of this version.

anyone who has seen alicia amatriain from stuttgart ballet do this pas de deux knows she does it pretty darn well :D
-
This was amazing, however(and you guessed it -I'm going to compare it to the original by Guillem)I'm not too fond of the little changes in the choreography, to me that is exactly what makes this dance so unbelievable, the small details in correct use with the music and I think that is why Sylvie's rendition is still unmatched. Still I have to say that Ms. Takeshi was more than just good in this role, far better than others, especially Zakharova.
-
honestly, she doesn't compare, at all, to the original woman... Sylvie Guillem will forever be the only dancer who can pull off this dance piece.
-
omg.. this is amazing.. whats the name of the composer for the music?
-
I love this interpretation. I will forever love the original i.e. Guillem's version but I do love Ms. Takeshi's artistry and dramatic interpretation too!

@tightlygagged Calm down... No dancer, or her uber fans, can expect to follow someone who was so phenomenal (take it or leave it) and expect not to have their performance of said work compared to the original. Smart people can see the beauty of the individual styles each dancer brings to a piece of choreography, silly ones whine when their "fav" is slighted by someone else's negative opinion.
Ah yes, the Guillem mafia strikes again. no one but the insufferably mannered and preciously pretentious Sylvie can dance anything, oui? Get a clue; Ms. Takeshi and MANY other dancers are just fine in this role.

i love how she makes eye contact with her partner at some points. it creates a connection that a lot of dancers fail to develop.
