If you are getting the check engine light with a code that i mention in the video, your solution might be an easy fix like mine. I also forgot to mention that after i had reconnected the hose on my air pump, i had to reset my engines codes, this will turn off the check engine light, but you then have to drive your car on the freeway for a while so your cars "Monitors" can become ready. basically the car has to run its own tests to make sure everything is good.

Here is a link to a new video that i just posted regarding slow or broken windshield wipers on a jetta - http://youtu.be/tv8eONLoaY0

  • you are an angel thank you so much!!!!

  • @unavenezolana No problem!

  • The secondary air pump is not unnecessary. on a cold start it adds oxygen from air to the exhaust causing the oxygen sensor to compensate by adding fuel which heats up the catalytic converter quickly. You would probably buy a new converter every year without this innovation.Your air pump also reduces the dispersal of excess hydrocarbons during specific drive cycle occasions.

  • @nesgael1 Good to know, i am no expert on the matter thats for sure, i had just heard from a few other videos that its role wasn't that important.

  • how long does it take to fix?

  • @marcie7059

If you are talking about how long it takes for the check engine light to turn off after re-attaching a hose that fell off or what not, you either have to just drive for a good week and hopefully it will check and see that its fixed and turn off the light, or you can use special tools to reset the cars computer and the light will go off, and eventually the car will test again to see if its fixed or not

  • @nesgael1 if it was necessary, it would be on every vw model that happens to have one. however, it's not. secondary air pump is not necessary.
