Blacksmiths from around the world are crafting a gum tree as a memorial to the Black Saturday bushfires in Victoria. The Tree Project was set up by the Australian Blacksmiths Association in Victoria.

The tree is being made from stainless steel, and so are most of the leaves - with a few leaves also made out of copper.
The stainless steel won't rust and the copper leaves will slowly turn green.

Interesting concept.
But are the leaves not going to rust away within a few years?
