  • What test curve were you using, and what rod? Nice catch

  • @calbond Greys F1 Mk2 12ft 3lb test curve. Great rods which are a joy to use & stand the test of time.

  • Greetings from Japan. I am a novice from Tokyo. How long was this fish?

  • @tnakai1971jp In the UK we don't tend to measure fish by length, but by weight. I would estimate the length of this fish to be around 700-800mm?

  • @CarpinKev

Many thanks for replying. I am chuffed.

So I have noticed. In Japan, we carp anglers all aspire to catch "4 feeter". How large can they get in the UK or in Europe?

  • @tnakai1971jp The world record carp (France) is currently around 94lb & the UK record 67lb +. A quick search on google will show you plenty of information and pictures :-) You will also find that Carp caught from rivers can be much leaner & longer than ones caught on lakes & stillwaters. In my video clip 'Taking pictures at night' I have a good example of the comparison between a thick-set , deep bodied Mirror Carp of 39lb & a long, lean Common Carp of 36lb.

  • Lovely fish mate! I'm fishing there next year any tips or best baits? I'd very much appreciate it.

  • nice video. went on my second carp fishing trip today landed an 11lb mirror and a 9lb common so im a little way off haha! My favourite part is when the water swells just before the fish comes to the surface awesome!

  • Great Common. Whats your PB?

  • That is a stunning fish, picture perfect scales and a really nice hue. I wish I didn't suck so badly at fishing so I could get me one of those!

  • That sir is one nice fish well done.
