I think you're supposed to finish the sandwich first before cutting it. Like put all your cheese, ham, and other ingredients in there and cover it with the other half of the bread. Then press the cutter into it and without taking it away, pressing 'the face part' on it so teh cutter piece keeps everything in place.
Honesty, there are a bunch of things that look like disney characters, not just this.
