Arik (ah-reek) MARSHALL is a guitarist/songwriter/producer/
performer. Arik was a member of the RED HOT CHILI PEPPERS in the early Nineties, doing the bulk of touring for the Pepper's breakthrough album "BloodSugarSexMagick." Arik then went on to write, record and perform with Grammy-nominated artist, MACY GRAY. Arik was with Macy from the beginning of her rise to fame and acclaim, staying and playing with her for over five years. Along the way, Arik has lent his unique, soulful, exotic, and oh-so-funky, "guitarizms" to such talent as: STING, CHAKA KHAN, ETTA JAMES, THE PRODIGY, GEORGE CLINTON & THE PARLIAMENT/FUNKADELIC, POE, ICE CUBE, TONE LOC, BJORK, MOLOKO, JODECI, LISA MARIE PRESLEY and others. He has also performed with SOUNDGARDEN, PEARL JAM and CARLOS SANTANA. He has written, produced and recorded several solo discs that have attracted a loyal underground fan base who eagerly await each new project. The respect and admiration Arik has received from his luminaries has enabled him to work with such "alternative" legends as H.R., singer of THE BAD BRAINS; Derek Breakfield of L.A. Ska band, THE UNTOUCHABLES; R.J. Herrera of the SUICIADAL TENDENCIES; a punk band, THE CIRCLE JERKS; and various members of FISHBONE. "The Trax of My Years" is a collection of cuts from previous recordings. "The Trax of My Years" collection includes guest appearances by Chad Smith and Flea of The Red Hot Chili Peppers, Norwood Fisher and Fish of Fishbone, H.R. of Bad Brains, Ralph Penland of Santana, Sy Smith, Dawn Beckman of Macy Gray, Fanny Franklin of Orgone, Audra Nishita, Ray Jarvis, Lady Sa, Members of Weapon of Choice, Rebirth and Dakah.
