  • if 80% of the work is done by 20% of the people why not fire the rest?

80% of the profit goes into the hands of 20% of the people.

80% of people desire the same 20% of products. People are not stupid.

80% of your competitors are after 20% of your customers.

80% of one gender are instantly attracted to 20% of the other gender.

80% of the sex is good 20% of the time.

80% of failures come from 20% of decisions.

80% of career obstacles are created by 20% of circumstances.

    How long is the list?

  • Peter, this is an excellent and insightful myriad of information. Peter, I'm a marketing student, and am doing a 80/20 rule and a customer service project. Is that okay if I ask you some questions on this topic?. It would be very helpful, from someone your expertise.

  • Productivity is a result of Efficiency, and not energy efficiency like some are talking right now, but COMPLETE Efficiency... if you don't know the Baselines of your business how can you improve it?... if your Equipment isn't kept and operated properly how can you depend on it?... if your organization has no good workers communication & training how can you get people to do the right things?... get it? Process, Equipment, Personnel, the core elements.... see the Industrial Efficiency Triangle.

  • It is sad that most managers and employers are highly directive in their style; dictating the detailed priorities and deliverables of their staff and subordinate organisations. In the current climate, where down-sizing is now an established and perennial part of corporate fiscal strategy, how can you express your own 80/20 insights?

  • Peter, what book you recommend in regards the 80/20 rule? A book with real examples and useful guidelines.

    Best regards

  • Perfectly realistic! It happened in my life. Its also called Pareto Principle => 20% success retention rate which depend your growth rate. 80% consumers/leaders is the LEVERAGE result of the 20% actual ACTIVE LEADERS 100% FOCUSED in their ENDEAVORS for whatever CAUSE/ADVOCACY they are DEALING WITH.

Lets share the Leadership productivity experience, chat with me: perfect-wellness.
