Like waking a sleeping giant
or breaking a months-long silence,
or kissing your best friend in the whole world.

This is resistance.
This is resistance!
This is- "love," she answered for me.
And I couldn't think of anything better, so I just nodded.

This morning I said love in every language I knew,
and none of them seemed good enough.

So I guess this is just me announcing that I'm joining the ranks
of those frustrated with words.
