Harga BBM Dipastikan Naik 28,7 Persen

Pemerintah memastikan harga bahan bakar minyak rata-rata naik 28,7 persen. Rencananya, Kamis (22/5), Presiden Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono akan mengumpulkan jajaran kabinet untuk memutuskan besaran kenaikan untuk premium, solar, dan minyak tanah. Pemerintah menegaskan sudah mengkaji dampak sosial akibat kenaikan itu.

Menurut Menteri Keuangan Sri Mulyani Indrawati, terus melonjaknya harga minyak mentah dunia yang saat ini menyentuh US$ 126 dolar per barel membuat pemerintah tak punya pilihan selain menaikkan harga BBM. Besaran kenaikan diperkirakan sebesar 28,7 persen. Menkeu menegaskan, tak ada cara lain yang bisa ditempuh pemerintah selain menaikkan harga BBM. Sebab, selama ini masyarakat yang mampu juga ikut menikmati subsidi BBM
