Layering different simple systems together to perform one complex task is really at the heart of what engineering is all about. In this project we show how it is possible to utilize different technologies and piece them together to controll an inxpensive RC Car, with an iPhone. With the NerdKit serving as the bridge between the computer and the R/C Car, it is as an example of how useful microcontrollers can be when they serve as the glue that makes complex systems work together, and how with an understanding of microcontrollers a neat system like this one is achievable as a Do-It-Yourself weekend project.

  • u cant make dis video unless u break ur remote in half

  • Screw this ill just buy one

  • i dont get it

  • Or you just use the controller.

  • why have you used it too complicated?

  • fuck, mathematics class, ohhh not again!!!!

  • Quite good sir. I believe, though, that you could use the wireless chip nRF24L01 to communicate with the iPhone directly from the Atmel microcontroller; am I right?

(Check out eBay for complete PCBs with the nRF24L01 plus all other components already soldered; cost virtually nothing).

  • y go through all this trouble when you could just use the remote controller

  • @BeArtlife

I did something similar and it can work, but you are likely to Need some more equipmemt like Sensors unless you can make shure , that nothing Is going to push the vehicle off its original path...

Anybody please correct me if i made a mistake and sorry for My Bad english^^

  • Whitout using the iphone do you think this car and it's code could do the same exact path over and over again? I think if go from point A to B and return to point A, the x an y values would lead you to the same path?, if so you could make a motion control camera rig
