This video presentation is a review of how the New Industrial Revolution changed society. The presentation begins with a short introduction narrated by myself. The presentation continues with an assortment of pictures with captions accompanied by various music selections that are related to the topic. I included many questions that students should be familiar with after completing a unit on the New Industrial Revolution. Some of the questions are related to great inventors such as: Thomas Edison, Henry Ford, Alexander Graham Bell, Wilbur and Orville Wright, and James Naismith. The video reviews urbanization, immigration, rise of big business and monopolies, and unions. The Triangle Shirtwaist Factory fire and the Haymarket Riot are also included. The video concludes with a Jacob Riis picture series to give students a view of tenement life. After watching the video presentation, students will be able to discuss how industrialization affected different groups of people in positive and negative ways.
Nikola Tesla's developments in electromagnetism should not be ignored or forgotten. Thank you.
