James came to teach at the Kahumoku `Ohana Hawaiian Music and Lifestyle Workshop, which is hosted every year at the Pahala Plantation House on the Big Island of Hawaii. He is one of the many talented Ukulele teachers there, however this was his first year of involvement. James, or Kimo as we call him in Hawaiian, is from Nova Scotia in Canada and presents a unique style of playing... watch and enjoy!

  • @ belanos will take that into consideration next time. Unfortunately this was an impromptu recording so we were unable to take hold of the opportune recording position. Better luck next time!

  • @BMissy26 wonderful to hear there are more uke-techno fans out there! Mahalo for your appreciation!

@Blucham Yes, you are very right! He did come back for Hana hou. We tried to get the footage... but unfortunately, we ran out of memory space! Next time we will be much more prepared! Mahalo for the shout out and for attending the concert!

  • I actually recorded this too, but I was using a mini dv camera and was very low on tape... I got good close up footage of his uke, but I couldn't record straight through the whole performance. I just caught bits and pieces of each different style he imitates.

  • Mahalo for that!

  • Very cool, thanks for posting...but camera dude...use da ZOOM! It would be nice to see what he's doing there.
