I get teary not only mufasa dies straight after and simba was reassured mufasa would always be by his side, but also because it was a powerful scene ever, in terms of a powerful bond between father and son. And it all applies to real life and it's lessons

This is my favorite scene with Mufasa. It's such a touching exchange between father and son. I think this scene is the key as to why his death is so unbelievably tragic, as well as the music.
