  • Actually, I think he makes a great deal of good sense. There is just no way random chance can account for DNA and the way it works. Nor the laws of physics and so much more. I used to think evolution might be true until I saw the statistics behind it and the unlikely outcome. Now I can not accept that the laws of physic occur by random chance. Change just one constant of the universe and everything changes. Sorry no way.

The Bible is true and Jesus is Lord. Better get used to this fact.

  • No way, eh?

Let's say you're playing poker. You get 5 cards, and there's a MINISCULE chance of getting those particular cards. In fact, change the shuffle JUST A LITTLE BIT and it would have been different. However, *those are the cards you have*. The "chance" argument doesn't work.

So you deny that the laws of physics came about "by chance". Ok, that's cool. How does this lead to "Bible is true" and "Jesus is Lord"? Why not Allah? Thor? FSM?

  • Funny i have an IQ of 185 and I know im a dumb person. IQ test doesnt make you a scientist or a person of knowledge. This guy clearly doesnt know anything about evolution, cosmology, abiogenesis, xenobiology or Lego building. Take your safari jacket and go talk at a Hovind convention. Maybe there he will fell smart lol. Good vid akg41470

  • I'm sorry, did you say *185*?

And you misspell "feel" and use "lol"?

That's kind of a surprise, no offense.

  • 1. What evidence do you have to say abiogenesis is "impossible"? There is focussed research DEDICATED to this subject.

    2. Why is proof necessary? He's making a non-scientific statement.

    3. You are confusing the vernacular for "theory" with the scientific term for "theory". Look it up, 'kid'. Evolution has been proven time and time again.

    4. Because God has nothing to do with science.

  • If you can't understand that simple analogy (England) you have no business using a computer.

Intelligent Design is suppose to be the belief in a creator, not any particular religion.

Later you question his Bible theology which is just plain silly for you.

  • The England analogy DOESN'T WORK because of a simply logical fallacy - do you undersand that?

If Intelligent Design is supposed to be a belief in a creator, tell that to the Discovery Institute, will you? They patently deny that.

I question his theology because it's silly to consider that stuff intellectually.

  • And this guy is in MENSA?

Dr Asimov is rolling on his grave...

  • This guy is brilliant! His goal is not to prove anything at all, merely to make MENSA look bad, thus making other intelligent non-christians look bad! What a brilliant strategy. Or, maybe he's serious, in which case he's the very definition of ignorant.

  • @akg41470 In Jagger's defense, I must say there are such things as typos. And saying "lol" seems to be a given among at least the younger people who post on the internet. However, I would disagree with him in his claim that a high IQ does not make one a person of knowledge. Or, perhaps I should say rather that a high IQ effectively forces one to constantly learn, else the world would be a very boring place indeed. If Jagger is being honest about his IQ, I suspect he was merely being modest.

  • I really feel as if the science of these arguments is a moot point to the creationists. To them god is the philosophic grounds for their reality. Thus, any scientific evidence given for the god's existence is a defense mechanism. I think the real heart of this argument lies in changing the philosophy of the times. It is about people being able to be comfortable in perceiving reality for exactly what the senses tell you it is.

  • In my experience, being a member of MENSA has no bearing on how intelligent a person is. An ex-boyfriend of my wife's is a member and he's a Jerry Springer episode waiting to happen

  • Interesting question from the Jeez here...

John, 3:12 If I have told you earthly things, and ye believe not, how shall ye believe, if I tell you of heavenly things?

Let's take a wee look at his track record, shall we?

    - In Matthew 4:8 Jesus thinks he sees every kingdom in the world from the top of a mountain. I wonder if God decided to make the Earth round at some point after he sent Jesus down to commit suicide.

  • - According to Jesus, diseases like Epilepsy are caused by demons and devils. Luke 9:39-24 Apparently, so is the inability to speak. Luke 11:14

    - He claimed that no one knows what direction the wind blows from in John 3:8.

    - He claimed that no man has ever gone to Heaven in John 3:13, even though the Bible states in Genesis 5:24, 2 Kings 2:11, and Hebrews 11:5 that Enoch and Elijah both went to Heaven.

  • I think a more appropriate question would have been "Why should you believe me when I speak of Heavenly things?" The Jeez obviously knew nothing about science, medicine, or the history of his own people, but felt the need to talk about these worldly things. There really isn't any reason to expect him to know what he's talking about in John.3:16 when he's telling everyone about how his Big Boogeyman in the sky is going to give people eternal life in Heaven.

  • This Ian Juby is only a 'proclaimed' member of Mensa. Nowhere will you find his name on the actual lists of Mensa members. How convenient for him that there are actually over 110000 members of Mensa. This guy is a hoax in himself using the Mensa to try and make his speech credible when in fact, he is nothing more than a creationist believer.

  • 8:51

There are a few organisms that are older than that. I think the oldest is the Methuselah tree, at about 4,000 years.

Finding a human that can live that long, on the other hand...
