A new song I wrote this evening, just feeling inspired by life lately. :)

I was clockwatching when you drew breath in
And you leaned closer, and whispered in my ear
That there's nothing to fear.

From life without you, I was all about you and your
Bright, bright sparkling eyes,
And in a moment, it flickers and dies.

And though the air is still, I know I never will
Catch my breath as the dawn mist embraces me
And this is barely real, but it's all I feel
So I watch the clock as she's stolen from me.

There are two ways and there are rare days
When I wonder if there is a light that shines straight through the night
and its our beacon, so without speaking, we weigh anchor
And sail into the loneliest ocean we knew.

And though the air is still, I know I never will
Catch my breath as the dawn mist embraces me
And this is barely real, but it's all I feel
So I watch the clock as she's stolen from me.

I could have sworn that there was one for me and one for you
The chopping block is rotting and I swear I heard you breathing too
In the corner of my mind there always is a light
That shines straight through the night.

And though the air is still, I know I never will
Catch my breath as the dawn mist embraces me
And this is barely real, but it's all I feel
So I watch the clock as she's stolen from me.
