I believe "I dig pain" was from the CHIPS episode, by the band "Pain" which is also a hilarious farce.

My favorite line from this episode was in one of Mayhem's songs: "Saw a blind man the other day / Stole his pencils and ran away!" I only saw the original airing but remember that quote to this day!

I band I was in during the early 80s (shortly after this originally aired) did a cover of "I Dig Pain" by the band from the episode, "Mayhem".
