Playing with the x-axis.
Everything appears to be working nicely now.
Time to finish the firmware.
Total cost of parts so far is around $95. This includes two of the motors and all three TMC222 controllers.

  • The problem with TMC222 is they are independant and run on I2C. This makes em useless for cooperating when you want to move multiple axis at the same time in a controlled manner.

    There is only a limited ammount of speed steps available in the tmc222 so only certain angles of motion will be possible when controlling multiple motors.

    Using step/dir based controllers is really highly recommended for a cnc so that each motor can be fully controlled and all the drivers synched.

  • I'm interested in your project. Could you give me more informations about tmc222 controlers? schamatics etc... I made cnc router and now I'm thinking about controllers. I have tmc222 chips and I dont know how to use if programs using dir/step outputs. thx for help
