I worked at a club in San Francisco many years ago, I was about 19 and knew nothing of blues music, Son seals played that night and blew me(and everyone else away) He played there about once every 2 years after that, always a gentleman and always a scorching performance.RIP Mr. Seals and thank you for opening a young mans eyes to the blues

@stan2211stan I saw son maybe more than you, ha ha ,my favorite. A blues club in cambridge called nightstage he was on fire one night and played till 2 am place went crazy.then I saw one of his last shows on a boston harbor cruise. was sad, his health was failing and he lost a leg to diabetes after the fact his wife shot him in the head few yrs earlier. He was still playing well but needed to sit down and looked frail.soon after that I heard he passed,I got to have a few words and a handshake

First time I saw Son was late 70's @ Chicagofest. He opened for Muddy Waters, but Mud was in the hospital and couldn't make it so Son played about 4 hours. He completely blew away everyone there. It was a SRO show and I was dead f'ing center with my elbows on stage. I'll never forget it...obviously. A great loss to the blues....some trivia...he played DRUMS on the classic Albert King LP - Live Wire/Blues Power.
greate stuff. BJ Emery on trombone. Thanks a lot
