A green laser is reflecting from a mirror which is connected to the cone of a speaker. The speaker is being fed with 200hz of sinewave. The laser sweeps (or slices) a through a vertical area of smoke-filled space (a Poincaré section) revealing this groovy pattern of fluid dynamic .

  • Cool! My girlfriend accidentally duplicated this effect towards the end of my "Easy Experiments with Dry Ice" video. This effect was also used pretty well in the opening scene of "Aliens".
