Bunch of bleeding heart hippies and peta activists...thank god the people in charge of these animals rarely listen to your nonsense

@craigparkervideos "thats my baby" isn't that Takara with Kohana or is it two shows?
-
seaworld whales have more babies in their lifetime than in the wild because they cant get away from the males in a box.
in the wild they would have maybe 5 babies in their lifetime - katina has alreay had 7 and shes only in her early thirties,
plus they force the animalsto get pregnant much ealier (in the wild - they start at 15) in captivty they have got pregnant at 4.
disgusting
-
thats kasatka - i thought it was katina that featured in the episode of 'thats my baby'

more successfull than the wild - WOW thats a bold claim, are they allowed to say that crap and get away with it. where the proof.
and "secure their fututre" - by breeding inbred hybrids that would never be allowed to be released becasue they would contaminate the wild population.
way to go seaworld, you give us more reason to hate you every day
-
"We just want to secure their future" ...Really? So now the survival of the whole species depends on the fucking seaworld? For the love of fuck, i hope no one is stupid enough to believe their bullshit. This is an equivalent to rape.

The 'secure their future' thing is an absolute lie. First, while 50% of wild born orcas don't make it past their first year, once they are past a year old they will outlive a captive one by at least ten years, and more likely thirty.
Second, SeaWorld claim captive born animals can never be released - so how does captive breeding 'secure their future'? They breed in captivity because the public has turned against wild captures; without captive born animals there would be no orcas for SeaWorld
Seaworld should not be permitted to make the claim that their breeding program is more successful than wild breeding, because there is no evidence to support this. In fact these animals have been breeding successfully for several million years and have never needed our help. This is how Seaworld skews information to support their public image and the notion that captivity is somehow beneficial for these animals. This is why they need oversight.

I really hate the fact that most interesting events such as these are rare. It seems like the people involved think the public shouldn't have the right to view something of this nature. That being said, I find myself very lucky having seen part of a tiger birth on the internet. Watching something like that can change your life.
