tons of carpenter ants invaded my balcony and they all fought to the death...literally. FREEDOM!!!!! yep, all those black spots you see are dead ants from fighting all day

LOL 30k+ views and still going :) never would have imagined that. but yeah i woke up one morning and these giant ants were literally falling from the roof onto my balcony by the dozens so i took a closer look and this is what i saw. i called my landlord to have an exterminator come over but by the time they got there every last ant wiped each other out

it could be two clans of carpenter ants having this war. did you look up close? are they all the same species?

very interesting fact there, i had no idea there were different species of carpenter ants, but it would make sense that two clans could be having this war. i always wondered why they would just kill each other. turf war maybe? but no i didn't get a close look at them to tell them apart
