The 2009 version of Neon Genesis Evangelion's theme, "A Cruel Angel's Thesis". At the moment of this posting it is still unknown if it will be included in the soundtrack for the Rebuild of Evangelion films.

The Rebuild series isn't finished yet, there's one or two films to go, and the next won't appear until the Fall of 2012 (and even that might be tentative).
The original series however is... up to this point somewhat darker. With it and End of Evangelion, you'll get the complete story (a resolved plot), but feelings of unresolved issues may be just as bad.
Still, if you're in for the long haul, I'd say the original series, Rebuild has winks and nods at the original fans you won't otherwise get.

@IamGreg73 Did things to your head? I can kinda relate to that, its definitely a different series beyond normal conventions. It gets in your head and stays there, hell The End of Evangelion planted some imagery I don't think is ever leaving.

yeah original series > new one imo but not by much, also I have to agree after watching this series it does stay with you, you sure as hell don't forget it it's got some themes/ideas that are pretty out there. probably didn't help that I watched the whole series when I was like 10 :o

What's the appeal to this show? Robin Williams is apparently a huge fan, which confuses me more even though that doesn't really say much about the series. I've heard there are some religious themes.
