Total solar eclipse from the beach in Shanghai. Totality lasted roughly just over 6 minutes, but I cropped out a few mindless black spots where I was looking at things around me instead of filming it. This is the longest totality in my lifetime, unless I'm alive in 2124. Which I don't plan on it.
The video is pretty poor, and its a bunch of friends including myself joking around, but it definitely gets the point across of what we saw. The weather was terrible so we didn't get to see full effect. Maybe next time though :)
Aside from the video, if you ever head for a solar eclipse you'll be amazed at not only how fast the sky gets dark, but how quickly the temperature cools.
If you are interested in checking out a solar eclipse, check out Nasa's solar eclipse page. Lots of details on when/where and the totality length.

Huge thanks to on the go tours for making this trip so amazing. The people they grouped us with were amazing and I made so great new friends. If you are planning a trip to China I definitely recommend looking them up:

The video was recorded with a Canon HF200 HD camera that has no ISO control. One thing you'll notice is since I had it set to auto, we sound amazed by nothing since the camera is making up for the lack of light. When it was completely dark things became very grainy since I couldn't change my ISO. :(
short than i thought.
