A great work! The second movement is played with a lot of intelligence, atmosphere and commitment, and the third movement is given with refined energy and bite. Maybe the balance engineers could have done a better job because Perahia's glissandos in the second movement are barely audible and, generally, I feel the percussion could be a bit more prominent. Has this performance appeared on your channel before?

..i agree,a marvellous interpretation of the bartók sonata,great fortitude of all protagonists under the impressive leadership of Georg Solti who plays the piano quite well [for a conductor].poor Evelyn Glennie doesnt look awfully happy ;))
