Opening titles to the blockbuster fantasy action drama thriller Batman (1989), a slightly more psychologically unhinged take on the D.C. Comics superhero. Here we are given Danny Elfman's bombastic and operatic signature theme, whilewe are taken round some dark, shadowy images before the whole picture is revealed to be an all black version of the iconic Batman symbol. The initially obscured image mirrors the hero's nature to stay in darkness both literally as a tool during conflict, and metaphorically given the moral knife edge of his vigilante activities. The notable change to a black icon, also helps disperse the audience's expectations in line with the previous camp incarnations of the hero, though the yellow symbol does still remain on the costume. • sweethome high school amherst new york, just preformed this tonight(febuary 17 2011) and it was amazing like it sounded just like this i am very proud of them

  • @29honestly

Well done. Hope you enjoyed yourself. Would be great if bands like yours started doing renditions of Hans Zimmer's themes - you know Molossus, etc..

  • Musically speaking, Mask of the Phantasm is the best. Then this movie. The new ones' soundtracks are ok, but at times a little TOO modern to be enjoyable, especially The Dark Knight. If I want a dissonant wail I'll look up Giacinto Scelsi

Aside from a few exceptions, I'm constantly impressed by the class of the viewership on my comments sections.

  • @Truexel You realize begins and dark knight arent remakes right?

  • My favourite part is from 1:59 too the end

  • that music, forever in my mind.

  • Awesome Credits, but i hate the producers Jon Peters and Peter Guber for being so mean to Tim Burton while filming. They are totally assholes!

Oh, and Danny Elfman´s Music kicks ass! Brilliant!

  • @Truexel

Dark Knight is not a remake, Nolan's series is a reboot of the series after Schumacher killed it.

  • lol Jack Nicolson takes top billing over Michael Keaton...of course cause he's the star and a damn good performance as The Joker.

  • Tim had it down , no when else could do it for batman. First and second movies the greatest after that the movies got cornier and cornier, Batman begins was alright but the timeline plot was all fucked up with algul and location and plot, the remake of the joker is gay, it was already done by the best jack nicholson in the best batman movie ever.

  • @playteam005 At the time he ws but now I don't like him as Joker. He says that he is gonna do this and that to Batman but he does not even do it. Heath Ledger's joker is way better and so is the way he does things. He actually goes for the big people like the judge and Harvey Dent and attacks Batman in many big ways.

  • @1moe7 Tim burtons are good but the new ones are alot better.

  • just classical...u cant beat the originals
