@19871002005 Indeed, Marlon is very similar is style to Cool Carl Hooper, or Hoopttt, as I used to call him, due to the fact that he played for Kent, and always hit the maximum (6 runs) over that large tree at the ground there. Well observed!!!!!! ;)

An excellent player is Marlon, extremely cool and laid back, but is always ready when the bowler is, and has a fantastic temprament and attitude to the game.
It's great to see him back playing for our country as well, with Marlon back, we will be stronger in ODI's, T20 and more importantly, test match cricket as well.

but this wasnt a bad innings as he displayed a lot of patience and grit..he played well in the 2nd innings too..he's changed his game now

He wasn't unlucky. As our batsmen usually do, he gave his wicket away. Look at that shot. Terrible!
And they all do it. Our best Batsman, Sarwan, can't hit the ball hard along the ground. If I were coaching, I would force them to weed out all the technically unsound strokes from their arsenal. Gilchrist is the most aggressive batsman on earth, but he usually is very sound with his technique. That's why he averages 50, in tests with a strike-rate better than that of the best 1-day players!

cracking pull shot
he won the man of the match award. Nice reward for the discipline and application he displayed.
