  • yo, jelo, you're obviously a great jin player. i got a question for you. when do you use the parry, and what are your setups for it? i dont usually use parry, but not using parry with jin is like not using taunt with bryan, so i'd like to get input from a pro

  • You should use the parry when you anticipate an attack, say your opponent tend to do a big single move after a jab. Next time he jabs you could go for the parry afterwards. Another instance is strings you know ends with a move you can parry and punish. Also if someone pressure you with poking like jabs and d/f+1 attacks you could parry one of these, you wont get a guaranteed punish but you'll be in advantage thus beating his pokes with yours. There is more stuff but those are the important ones.

  • @jelooo umm am i the only one who thinks the parry is useless? I'd use it more but seriously when i do manage to get a parry even after the big shot i don't get any time advantage to even jab back? can u tell me what the purpose of the parry is and how its used once you land it?

  • @fahddoggz if you can't jab back you're being to slow. If you parry the first move of a string you "usually" can't interrupt the next attach in that string with anything but a side step or a punch parry. Some times you can, like Bryan does d2,4 if you parry the first part you can interrupt with a jab (24).

    Single moves are usually punishable with 24 (10f), 1+2 (12f) or d3+4 (15).

Now if you play online... then it can be difficult reacting in time even though you are in advantage.

  • man knee plays a wonderful Jin, id like to see him with all chars!!! :D

  • He's probably not as good with all the other character as Jin is or at least used to be one of his second character.

  • The jin in coat displayed impressive style and gameplay. He may have lost a lot but he's obviously the better player for me. He also uses almost all of jins moves that other players dont like the parry and suigetsu. Very intelligent player and at the same time artistic. He made the match look awesome... The other jin (no shirt) however, was only spamming a lot of poke very typical. Using pressure to win. Looked cheap

  • I supose it could be one of knee's sub characters because knee plays tekken hardcore probably since number 1 and in tekken 4 jin was top tier and every pro knew how to play jin so I guess thats the only way why knee can still play jin a little bit.

  • yeah.. i noticed that. surprised me a lot..

  • @dhtjlghks

you can parry everything with jin in t6 BR though lol

  • i'm pretty sure that you cant parry taunt... i play both bryan and jin, and i've never seen it happen. thanks for the input, but i was really asking for parry setups, like, when i should use parry.

  • Usually when i parry, i tend to use u/f+4 for a free juggle (it's only when the move that the oponnent used is slow to recovery), or like jelooo said d/f+1 for quick moves. I don't remember, but I think it's useful against Bryan's taunt (correct me if I'm wrong jelooo). Hope it helps.
