great tutorial but you can also add another sphere to gave your earth atmosphere ..... like a halo u can see your planet will be more realistic.

OK I have a problem, the earth I'm making makes a reflection of the light and shows a ugly light spot.

Thanks, but there's too many tutorials for creating planets for rendering only. How about making one for how to UV map a planet for use in games?
