@lukeman62 does it really matter when the music's this great? It was a totally random name. They needed a name for the piece right before they filmed a TV show. A newspaper article about a woman with a nuclear pacemaker inspired it. The Headline read" Atomic Heart Mother".

An incredible performance of a much under-rated Floyd piece. This is my favorite Pink Floyd track and is the most difficult to perform live. Usually presented in an un-orchestrated format, this is the longest version I have heard based upon the original composition. Sadly the sound quality is not good but it represents an important piece of Pink Floyd history. A similar version, slightly shorter but with superb quality is Pink Floyd live at the BBC 1970-1971, also on Youtube.
