at 9.45am friday 7th jan i go say good morning to my 6 polo ponies who live at home. i notice Voodoo has wet leaves stuck to her belly and lean over fence to brush them off. but it wasn't leaves. it was a flap of skin. how she did it no one knows. Vet cleaned wound, cut off dead tissue and sewed edges back together. then put on algi something and a dressing then bandaged her around tummy. huge bandage!! bandaged changed sunday and 50/50 wether flap of skin/edges re-fixing. re-bandaged today and no. they're not. so friday whole flap being cut off. bought manuka honey to pack wound. but any tips/advice/experience really gratefully received.

  • this same thing happened to my sister's gelding! except his wound was on his bum. we used a spray med called Vetricyn, you'll have to check the spelling on that one! I saw a HUGE change in just a few days!
