It's a lovely tribute to a brilliant monkey. My whole family love him and he was facinated with my wife. absolutely loved her. if you search for my video Toby Sillett - Be It Love you'll find the second to last picture is of Tom looking attentively at my wife. he will be missed. x

He was taken ill on July 9th and seems to have passed away the next day, as a result of kidney failure, which was affecting the rest of his organs. According to the letter; "With the arrival of 88 capuchins from the lab in Chile, Tom was able to give up his dominant male position, which he seeemed very pleased about. Instead being in charge, he spent his days playing, grooming and eating with the new arrivals. He was very happy." Truly a monkey after my own heart :)

As an "Adoptive Parent" of Tom, I had a letter today from Alison Cronin, breaking the sad news. It seems he had kidney failure and had lapsed into a coma. He passed away, peacefully "in the arms of the Primate Care Staff", so typical of the extra-ordinary care all the rescued primates recieve at this wonderful facility. I can only imagine the feelings of Alison and all the staff at their loss of such a much loved character and my heartfelt good wishes and support goes out to all of them.
