  • Be nowt of that left ergos, the "Shot" went out live and was rarely recorded, so your Ryan bros clip is lost in the ether, sorry.

There is only 5 and a bit Shots been recorded during its lifelspan.

  • Hello Titan, I enjoyed watching your clips of the golden shot, many thanks for loading! You mention some episodes and I wondered if you might have the one featuring Paul & Barry Ryan. From my foggy memory it would be about 1969 and they wore white suits.

    Thanks,

    Geo

  • Update: Kaleidoscope the TV archiving society have been handed care of Bob's collection from his estate.

They have uncovered 15+ of final season Bob taped himself, and a few earlier editions.

All to be unveiled in October at the BFI.

Try Kaleidoscope Publishing or the masauleum club for details.

  • BTW u can get a 45 of the theme tune "Golden Day" issued on Bradleys.

  • Great clip! Have you got any more from this particular show? Have you got any clips from the later Bob Monkhouse shows which has the theme tune that goes "This is your Golden day...etc. don't know how the rest of it goes. I'm sure I must be the only person on earth who remembers the last ever theme tune to The Golden Shot! I don't go back as far as the 60s b/w days though.

  • All thats left is !x Jackie Rae, 1967, end 3/4 of a 1969 Monkhouse, 1 x 1970 Monkhouse, 1 x 1973 Vaughan, 2 x 1974 Williams and reel one of 3 of another Williams. There's also a domestic recording of at least one Monkhouse from the last series, all from Williams on are on colour tape, the rest are b/w film prints.

Funnily it's the last series with Monkhouse I recall as well, but have only seen clips from the off-air recording, never seen a full ep from this run since '75!

  • Are there any clips in existence of the Norman Vaughan shows? I would be fascinated to see them.

  • Ah my Mum was pulled out the audience on the Golden Shot show when she was a teenager and ended up winning a cool record player. I'm trying to find the episode with her on! Her names Bernadette (Bernie for short, like bernie the bolt!) if anyone finds it, msg me please. :)

  • @darrowby1972 No, remember psychedelia ? It was normal !

  • Thought Bob Monkhouse was the presenter, whose that man?

  • Mixed Race and a raving homosexual? blimey that was daring in the 70`s wouldnt you say??

  • I dont believe that is your occupation. More likely you work, or worked at Subaseal on Wakefield Road making hot water bottles, and tended to dream whilst attaching bottle stoppers. I also believe you have a prosthetic leg.

  • Such bitterness. Psychologically this is likely to be because your mother died when you were very young, through contracting Syphillis as a whore on the streets of Barnsley. The result is a bitterness towards certain section of society. And you have a penis fixation.

  • @Simonquinlankify Charlie Williams was from Royston, Barnsley. Show a bit of respect, you fucking dickhead.

  • Well i agree ; i wouldnt have taken into account his celebrity meself if he'd tried that nonsense although him being negro is irrelevant.I mean, i have'nt seen such complaints about Barrack Obama on here or Lenny Henry whatever folk think of them

  • Well thanks for letting me know and i hope he told a policeman ! ; wasnt he rubbing it in the wrong place tho for a bit of sodomy ?
