In this "electrifying" video, we connect a normal pickle to a normal wall outlet, and watch what happens. This glowing phenomenon happens because of the ingredients in the pickle itself. Pickles, as you probably know have a high quantity acids and salts in them, and these are made from ions, which are excellent conductors. When the pickle is connected, the electricity excites the sodium ions in the salt of the pickle, making them give off a yellow/orange color, the same as in our sodium flame test. Be careful if you decide to do this as household AC power has 120 volts and 20 amps, which can easily knock anyone out. Enjoy!

Thanks!!!!
I wouldn't recommend it because the current leaves a nasty black residue on the iron nail, which leaches through the pickle. It's also quite hot, and not as solid... more of a pulp.
